Bench Dedication Ceremony
On June 8, 2013 the Alumni Association dedicated two benches on the Alfred University Campus. A wooden bench and a bronze plaque was placed in front of Ann's House (the site of the house on Fraternity row) and another wooden bench and bronze plaque was placed on the site of the old house located between the Science Center and Harder Hall.
During the dedication of the bench on the site of the Binns house several brothers who had lived in the house shared stories of their fondest memories while living in the house.
The Binns house was actually larger in total square footage than the house built by the brothers on Fraternity Row.
A piece of the old house still lives today. The Greek letters that hung on the party room wall were made from the beams of the Binns house. These letters now reside with Dana Holliday in California. When a permanent home can be found for them in Alfred they will return to Alfred.
