The 47th AU Lambda Chi Alpha (“Roscoe”) Golden Saxon Reunion was held at Alfred in June of 2022 in concert with the Alfred University Annual Reunion. For those Brothers, Wives, Honorary Members, and Friends attending and those of you who attended past reunions, this was a year of being a “Family” within the Fraternity The Events and Program: The Thursday evening welcome get together was enjoyed by many at Paddy’s Pub in Hornell Attending at the Pub for his first Reunion was Brother John Davis class of ‘67, and wife Peggy Photos of those attending are shown below including Bernie DiBenedetto (Barney’s son), and Zach Stein, grandson of Joe Stein The Friday night banquet was held once again at the Connor Pavilion near the football field. The Tradition: Records confirmed it was the 47th LXA Reunion, started as the “Roscoe Reunions” by the Spragues (Kim and MaryLou) , Steilens, Bryants and Fosters in 1975 Returning were Honorary Brothers Elliott Lasky, Russ Fahey and wives, and Barney DiBenedetto. The Transition: The venue has changed over the years from Roscoe NY, to the Poconos, to Wellsville, to Hornell, and now again to Alfred in conjunction with the AU Annual Reunion. All LXA Brothers, Honorary Members, Family members and friends are encouraged to return to the AU Reunion and share precious time together. For 2023 we propose to again e-mail all LXA our Brothers Honorary members and friends encouraging them to attend our 48th LXA Banquet, the AU Reunion and share in the gatherings planned by the LXA Brothers, and AU events for the “Greeks”. The AU Reunion and LXA Reunion dates are: June 8-11th 2023 (Save the dates) The Program: Master of Ceremonies was “mastered” again by Dick Gross ‘61. Dick introduced first time attendees, then Russ Fahey who announced this year’s Honorary Brother, “Woody” Hausler Bill Dick presented photos by Elliott Lasky, then a video of memories of AU and LXA by Kent Riegel, well received and appreciated by all, and with programing done by Laurie Meehan The Friday AU Golf events at Bath GC and Wellsville GC were summarized and all brothers claimed to be under par in a scramble. Playing were: Bill Ries, Chuck Ries, Tom Scanlon, Russ and Pat Fahey, Bernie DiBenedetto, (with Barney driving the cart) Zach and Joe Stein and Dick Gross. Chuck Ries, while borrowing Tom Scanlon’s wife Sue, sang the nostalgic LXA pinning ceremony “Sweetheart of Lambda Chi” followed up with brother’s joining in with a rousing rendition of “We’re All Good Brothers” Addendums: In the weeks following the Reunion, Honorary member Elwood “Woody” Hausler sent a message of appreciation to Russ and shortly thereafter, Woody died. Barney DiBenedetto appreciated the opportunity to have his son join our Reunion, and soon after, Barney died. We hope you'll join us at the 2023 Reunion, June 8-11.
