Homecoming 2016
This year's Homecoming weekend at Alfred was held September 23-25. Along with kicking the Ithaca Bomber's butts on the gridiron (and other University sponsored events), an Alumni/Faculty Wine and Cheese Reception was held at Joe (LCA KE 1115)and his wife Rosemarie Sorrentino's house at 123 N. Main Street, Alfred (aka LCA Alumni House). The event was co-hosted by the Sorrentinos, Kara Mackey Dopman (Sigma Chi Nu) and Mark O'Meara (LCA KE 851 and Alfred Legend); AU provided several varieties of select cheeses. We had many visitors that day, in and out, into the early and late evening. House manager Tony King (LCA KE 1152) reports that everyone (mostly)behaved themselves, being respectful (and impressed)with the work he and his crew had done, and continue to do so on "the house."
On Thursday, September 22nd, Carl (LCA KE 1085) and Kita Woodward made a special trip to Alfred and, although not able to stay the weekend, dropped off several containers of his tasty specialty brews for Saturday's receptions and was treated, along with Blaze (LCA KE 1008), to a home-cooked meal courtesy of Tony King = delicious.
Shortly thereafter, Bill Dick (LCA KE 478) of the Roscoe, NY LCA contingent stopped by for a visit and shared at length with brother Tony about the Roscoe Group, their history and what what could be in the future. Reportedly, after a late night huddled around the house's bar, Bill got up early the next morning driving home to Michigan solo = long ride.
Good times - more to be had - come and see for yourself.
